Snowball Target Practice

Have a ball, North Pole-style!

Materials:

  • Green craft paper
  • Red letter stickers
  • Cotton wool balls
  • Embroidery hoop
  • Sticky dots
  • Scissors
  • Decorative trim, such as fringe trim
  • White acrylic paint

Instructions:

  1. From the craft paper, your elf will cut a circle the size of the embroidery hoop. They will cut a smaller hole inside the circle to make a target.
  2. Next, they will attach the circle to the hoop using sticky dots around the edges.
  3. Then they will decorate the outside edge of the hoop and the inside edge of the target hole with decorative trim, fixing it with sticky dots.
  4. Your Scout Elf will place the letters around the target hole to spell out SNOWBALL PRACTICE on the front and SPLAT! on the back.
  5. They will use a cotton wool ball and a small dab of white acrylic paint to make snowball splats around the target hole, on both the front and back.
  6. They may decide to hang the target from something like a kitchen cupboard, by looping the decorative trim around the hoop and tying it into a long loop. Hanging the target might even make it spin!
  7. After this, they will surround themselves with cotton wool balls and wait for you to find them in action.
  8. Finally, they will watch as you try your hand at landing the snowballs inside the target hole. It’s not as easy as it looks!
