Googly Eyed Laundry Monster

At last, undeniable evidence that the Sock Monster truly exists.

Materials:

  • 2 white paper plates
  • Blue paper
  • Black paper
  • 2 black pipe cleaners
  • Red cloth or fabric scrap
  • Tape or glue

Instructions:

  1. First, your Scout Elf will create two oversized googly eyes by taping or gluing a large blue circle onto each paper plate, adding a smaller black circle on top, and shaping a black pipe cleaner into a cheeky eyebrow.
  2. Next, they’ll attach the eyes above the door of a front-loading washing machine or tumble dryer to bring the creature to life.
  3. Then they’ll place a red cloth so it hangs out like the monster’s tongue, ready to “catch” any stray socks.
  4. Finally, your Scout Elf will perch nearby and wait for you to discover their hilarious proof that a laundry-loving monster has been lurking all along.
